Families can be powerful allies in the transition process.  They need to be their child’s first and most knowledgeable “champion” with high expectations for fostering their ability to achieve and become self-sufficient. This webcast presents easy-to-implement, high-leverage practices schools can introduce to harness families as transition partners. Educators recognize from extensive research that family involvement improves school performance and post-school outcomes for students with disabilities. What can educators do to increase family engagement in the transition process? The tips, strategies, and resources shared during this webcast encourage family involvement through education, collaboration, and engagement in the transition process.
