Skills students need to be successful adults are learned in the early years of education and are built upon as they move through elementary, middle, and high school. Students who require more support benefit from this early focus on transition because they often need the time and resources to develop a transition plan that reflects their strengths, preferences, and interests. During this webcast, participants will learn the value of secondary transition planning, roles and responsibilities, secondary transition resources, and connecting Virginia Essentialized Standards of Learning (VESOL) instruction to secondary transition planning.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the value of secondary transition planning.
  • Discover resources to further explore and gain knowledge of secondary transition planning.
  • Learn how to coordinate VESOL instruction and secondary transition.
