From state agency funders to local providers, there are numerous opportunities to amplify the stories of people going to work, becoming tax payers, and achieving employment goals. However, all too often not much thought is put into newsletters, fundraising activities, and employer engagement brochures. This webinar will use principles from Social Role Valorization and resources from the National Center on Disability and Journalism to examine examples of messaging that need improvement, as well as stories that have been thoughtfully created. Tips for using paid “Story Auditors” (people with lived-experience, and expertise in print and visual media) who can review materials and stories  before publication will be highlighted.
