Presented By:
Erik Carter, Vanderbilt University

October 29, 2020

What might it take to change the employment landscape for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)? Why is meaningful work so important to pursue? We present key findings and lessons learned from a qualitative study involving nearly 60 parents and siblings in Tennessee. Reflecting on their own experiences pursuing integrated employment with and for their family member with IDD, these participants shared unique insights and practical recommendations for strengthening the pathways to the world of work.
