Presenters:
Matt Luther has over 25 years of experience in various educational and counseling positions. Prior to coming to DARS he has worked with New Horizons Regional Education Center, Williamsburg James City County Schools and Poquoson City Schools. During this time he has served as Transition Counselor, Cold Case Counselor for the Eastern Region, Vocational Evaluator, Special Education Teacher, GED Instructor, Transition Specialist and Assistant Football and Wrestling Coach. He is also a Certified Vocational Evaluator, a Licensed Teacher K-12 ED, LD, MR and a Certified Workforce Development Professional. He serves on the State Special Education Advisory Board as an Agency Representative. His education includes MA Degree in Special Education from The College of William and Mary. Matt's life work has been working with young adults transitioning from the high school culture to the work world environment.
Jean Terrell Steveson has worked in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation for 30 years. She has spent the vast majority of time working with students and youth with disabilities to help prepare them for adult life, including becoming successfully employed. She has served in the capacity of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Transition Coordinator, Regional Director and most recently the Director of Transition Services for DARS. Jean is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
