A Strange Story from a Strange World: My Life and the William and Mary Neurodiversity Student Group
I will discuss how I became who I am today and the path I took to be a William and Mary student in the center of the first college-supported Neurodiversity group in the nation.
Joel Carver is a rising Junior at the College of William and Mary and a Neurodiversity advocate. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome (now ASD) at a young age and discovered his condition in depth his senior year of high school. He opened up to the world after presenting about Autism to his Freshman hall, and shortly afterward began discussing the subject with prominent scholar John Elder Robison, who is also a member of the Neurodiversity Group at the College of William and Mary.
